1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 can (14.5 oz) chicken broth
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk (or 1½ cups ½ & ½)
1 can (15.5 oz) great northern beans, undrained (or other white beans)
1 1/2 cups (about 6 oz) cooked ham, cut into 1/2" pieces
1/2 cup frozen peas


      Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat.  Add onion and garlic: cook stirring occasionally for 1-2 minutes or until onion is tender. Mix cornstarch with chicken broth until smooth.  Add to pan.  Gradually stir in evaporated milk.  Cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.   Add beans, ham and peas.   Heat through.  Season with pepper to taste.
