Printable Recipe

½ cup soy sauce (I used La Choy)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
4 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
4 teaspoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium onion cut into 1" pieces
1 medium red (or green) bell pepper, cut into 1" pieces
2 medium carrots, sliced
2 cups broccoli florets
1 lb uncooked, peeled and deveined large shrimp, thawed if frozen
Hot cooked rice

Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, crushed red pepper and cornstarch in a small bowl.  Stir until cornstarch is dissolved and mixture is smooth.  Set aside.
Heat the vegetable oil in a 12" skillet over medium high heat.  Stir-fry onion, bell pepper, carrots and broccoli until crisp-tender, about 2-3 minutes.
Stir in reserved sauce mixture and shrimp.  Stir-fry an additional 3-5 minutes or until shrimp are pink and sauce is thickened.
    Serve over rice if desired.

Based on a recipe from Betty Crocker.
